What is ‘lifestyle’ photography?
A lifestyle newborn photography session is done in the comfort of your home and, to be exact, tells a story of the love and connection you all have for your new family. It is different to a studio session and is more relaxed, and does not include props. It’s a very natural ‘unposed’ (but I do plenty of subtle posing to make you all look AMAZING!) style of photography, I simply capture you as a new family, enhance those beautiful moments and make your new everyday look that extra fantastical!

I capture all the beautiful moments that you all have together now your precious little one has arrived, from the way your baby feels in your arms, how strong they are when they grab hold of your finger, how amazing they smell when you snuggle and breathe them in and everything in between.
During a lifestyle newborn session, there is some gentle posing involved but this is entirely up to how your newborn baby feels and how old they are. I can either wrap them in a simple muslin, keepsake blanket you may have or one of my beautiful wraps with matching headband or teddy.

FAQ’s
What if my baby wont sleep?
It doesn't matter if your baby is unsettled or doesn't want to sleep, unlike a studio session they do not need to be asleep to be posed in order to get great images. Usually babies are also a lot more settled in their parents arms and when they’re at their family home, the sounds, smells and everything about your home are so familiar to them already. This makes them feel super safe and calm……exactly what we want them to feel.
How old can my baby be?
Lifestyle newborn sessions are best taken when your baby is still tiny, so around 2 weeks old but due to the nature of these sessions, they’re also perfect for older babies too if you’ve missed that tiny window. I offer newborn lifestyle photography sessions up to 5 months old as there is no complicated posing involved to prevent this and they are really starting to recognise who you are and give the best smiles.
Does my house have to be tidy?
Absolutely not, you’ve just had a baby! The last thing you need to worry about is having to tidy up before your photoshoot.
You’re only allowed to do a quick tidy if you feel up to it. So please don’t worry about making it look perfect, when I arrive I’ll ask you to show me around and we’ll figure out where the best light is and I’ll help move anything that might be distracting in your lifestyle newborn photos.
Can I include other family members in my photoshoot?
Yes of course! In fact I encourage it!
Siblings, furry family members and grandparents are all more than welcome to take part in your photoshoot!
What could be more special than capturing a beautiful photo of your parents holding their grandchild, this is something that they will treasure forever! Or including your dog in the photoshoot and watching them snuggle their new baby sister or brother….cuteness overload!
